Its a process where milk is sent from the source (Away from towns) to Elwak Township where the names of the person to receive the milk is written on a piece of paper and fixed on the containers of milk, and when it reaches the destination the people involved, takes the milk and sell it to the community at some rates, its that they sell the milk at a price that is a bit higher than it comes with and they took the profit and in the evening they send the returns, and this is how the women in this town who are poor make there living and sustain their families because most of them their husbands are poor and jobless as shown in the video "Elwak Milk Sellers".ELWAK MAARIFA CENTREhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14586792968291489607noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071970604724086232.post-87733755391647013682011-04-14T02:16:00.000-07:002011-04-14T02:16:38.368-07:00Surviving the Drought<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxb27ckNWi7KV6SucZP94UXxuiB2P7Or5gQfEEdyVjmWhDBh1w2c1LcVNwxy1WpqrUqea8YicSV782Gvg3s-w' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">The severe drought that is being experienced in most part of the country has not spared Elwak, The town is almost perishing and the community is doing what they can to save themselves and their livestock. This short video 'Surviving the Drought' shows the reality of climate change that has resulted in the prolonged drought and lack of rain since 2009. See how people now have to share their little food with livestock as some seek unconventional alternative such as wet carton boxes flavoured with salt or sugar to save them. This video shows the deepest of the drought disaster.</div>ELWAK MAARIFA CENTREhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14586792968291489607noreply@blogger.com0
